Jonathan Edwards: The Beauty of Holiness

“And so it is in God, according to our way of conceiving of the Divine Being: holiness is in a peculiar manner the beauty of the Divine nature. Hence we often read of the beauty of holiness,” wrote Jonathan Edwards, the revivalist who lived in the 1700’s.  Perhaps Edwards is best known for delivering his sermon entitled, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.”

One such example from Scripture is found in Psalm 29:2: “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.”
