Sufficient, Certain and Infallible – The Power of the Word of God

The historical confessions of faith are a steadying influence in a church and family. I recently delivered a message on The Baptist Confession of 1689 which speaks of the power of the Word of God in the first chapter. 

In the first three sections of Chapter 1 of the Baptist Confession of 1689, the sufficiiency, certainty and infallibility of the Bible is declared.

This means that the Bible ought to be the most important resource in the home. It should capture the first portion of time. My experience is that if it does not take the first place in priority, it will take the last place. This usually happens in homes which are filled with movies and books and music that edges out the Bible in importance.
