Laodicea, the Lukewarm Church
Revelation 3:14:14-22
The church in Laodicea was successful, rich, health-conscious and fashionable. It was a proud church, energized by success and self-sufficiency. The Laodiceans needed no help from God. The Lord Jesus is ready to spew them out of His mouth with the violence of vomiting… but the Lord’s mercies are new every morning - he calls them to repent that they might have pure gold, white garments and eyes that see.
